We start with our yarn - 100% Pure Cashmere. Inherently one of the softest qualities of yarn, with natural anti itching properties, we chose this yarn because of its quality, warmth, and our Cashmere vender’s commitment to sustainability.
This Cashmere was certificated from the Sustainable Fiber Alliance (SFA), The Good Cashmere Standard (GCS), and the International Cooperation Committee of Animal Welfare (ICCAW). Read more about the exciting meaning behind these names on our Sustainability Page.
The fringe and hand crochet scalloping detailing is made from a luxurious ribbon like 100% Silk yarn. This fiber does not have any certifications.
The main cashmere body of this piece was made by a duo husband/wife run manufacturer in NY. We started with a tension swatch - this effects how soft the final piece is. Once approved, we go into prototyping. We went through two protos to make sure the final shawl would be just perfect.
The piece is shipped to our studio in Indiana where the delicate silk scalloping is hand crocheted around the entire wrap.

Each fringe is hand knotted, one at a time across the entire length of the shawl to create this beautiful waterfall fringe (my mother’s hand are lovingly seen here)
Our garments are family heirlooms and their packaging needs to keep them safe. Our packaging are custom made cedar boxes – protective ecosystems that safeguard your shrug from the gravity of hangers, hungry moths, and the aging effects of time.
Made by local woodworker, Dustin Case. He makes the boxes in his Indiana studio using cedar wood certified by the Forrest Stewardship Council (FSC)
Inside each box are step by step instructions for how to care for your shrug. We believe that sharing how to properly care for your clothing is a form of love. A special kind of inheritance that you can pass on to future generations.
Thank you for following along on your piece’s creative journey! My hope is that the warmth that we whisper in each hand-crafted stitch, keeps you feeling loved and beautiful the day of your wedding.
With Love,
Esther
